Why would i need arch support?

Imbalances of the bones of the feet can result in abnormal foot motion (over pronation). This can impair foot function which can result in abnormal rotation of the legs and sometimes affects the knees, hips or back. If we combine these tremendous forces with the need for precise balance, we can see how small structural changes in the foot can make significant differences. Arch Supports help to improve those structural changes.

Below is a list of all the conditions that Arch Supports can help

Achilles Tendonitis, Corns, Metatarsalgia, Sesamoiditis, Ankle Sprains, Flat Feet, Neuroma, Tendonitis, Arch Pain, Heel Pain, Pronation, Top of the foot pain, Bunions, Knee Pain, Shin Pain, Toe Pain, lower back pain.

Most skaters wouldn’t consider changing their footbeds to relieve pain or discomfort, not only can replacing the footbed improve these issues, but it can also give you a better feel on the ice improving your confidence. This is something that can not only save you a huge amount of money, but also improve your performance on the ice.

How to fit your Superfeet Footbed from home

Fitting the Superfeet Footbed is a relativly quick and simple process, you need to use the footbed from your current skates (the footbed you want to replace) as a template to use to cut around the Superfeet footbed. This will not only ensure the fit is accurate, but it will also prevent you from cutting away to much and wasting the footbed.

To do this, you will need:

  • The Superfeet footbed
  • A marker/pen
  • Your current footbed
  • Scissor
  • Perhaps something to file the edges to give you a more refined finish (optional)

How To Cut & Fit Your Superfeet Yellow Footbed

You begin by placing your current footbed on top of your new Superfeet footbed making sure the heel is around an 8th of an inch behind.

To ensure the top of the footbed is properly aligned with the Superfeet, be sure the inside edges are aligned with the Superfeet.

Once satisfied with the arrangment, begin to draw around your old footbed making sure its completely flat.

Double check everything correct then begin to cut around the lines you’ve drawn.

You have the option of filing the cut edges to give the Superfeet a more finished result, but of course this is optional.
