Here is everything you need to know about the new Bauer Skate Sharpener.
Prosharp Bauer Advantedge skate sharpener review –
Price: $949.99 USD
Appearance: 10/10 Appearance is great. It looks expensive
Easy of step up: It’s easy to use the machine and sharpen skates.
Easy of use: Changing the sharpening wheels or doing anything inside the machine is challenging. The door and machine open is very small. Large hands will have difficulty.
Calibration process: The calibration process is a big let down. It’s basically the same as the ProSharp home from many years ago. For a machine released in 2024, I would have expected something much more user friendly and simple. The use of 2 stickers to help align a modern sharpening machine seems Stone Age. It’s in accurate and rudimental.
Filter: This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The exclusion of a filter or dust management system inside a sophisticated skate sharpening from 2024 is insane.. Advice marketed as a home skate shop, and if it can be portable and carried anywhere should 100% have a dust management system and a filter Inc big let down from Bauer.
Quality of sharpen: the quality of the shopping and the finish on the blade cannot be faulted. No complaints in this department great overall finish on the blade after sharpening..
Portable: The size and weight (12kg +) of the machine. Definitely make it portable, but the size and weight again will be a compromise for many players out there. It isn’t the smallest sharpener but I suppose it can be moved.
Compatible skates: Most goalie skates and of course player skate can be sharpened. However, figure skates will be a problem. There is NO manual grinding wheel hight adjustment option at all!
Grinding wheels: There is no /16th wheels available at all. So 7/16 or 9/16 sharpens are not an option at all.
There is also No flat bottom V.
