Stickhandling Figure of 8 Ice Hockey Drill – Figure of 8 Stick handling Drill (Improve Your Stickhandling)

This drill focuses on having an expansion of your arms while keeping both hands on the stick. You’ll also notice that when the golf ball is in front of me, my hands and spread out on the stick, as the golf goes further away, the gap between my hands on the stick gets smaller as I push the stick with my top hand and allow the shaft of my stick to slide through my bottom hand.

Hands close together while ball is furthest from my body (ball is cupped by the blade of my stick)

When the ball is close to my body, my hands are spread apart on the stick

It’s important to keep the golf ball cupped by the blade of the stick the entire time you practice this drill.

I find it hard work not having that bottom hand holding to tight! I use a golf ball often, but on ice i flip the puck over alot.

Remember to use soft hands, I’ll have a drill for that coming out soon ;) one new stickhandling drill each week :)

use a piece of cardboard like i do in the video, toilet rolls also to the trick (as funny as it sounds lol), I’ll post an article on how to set it up if you like?
