Whats the point of waxing your hockey stick?
Waxing your hockey stick (depending on which wax you use) has several advantages:
- Wax create a water barrier
- Protects your stick blade from ice and snow building up
- Makes you stick tape last much longer
- Creates a tacky feel on the stick blade which results in more control over the puck
- More puck spin on shots (due to tacky feel)

There are multiple waxes that you can use on your hockey stick, not just “hockey wax”. Here are some of the differences between them.
Paraffin Wax/ Caddle wax
- Wax create a water barrier
- Protects your stick blade from ice and snow building up
- Makes you stick tape last much longer
- Creates a slicker feel (unlike the tacky feel from hockey wax).
