Skating Meetups

Hey Guys,

I'm 19 and have recently moved down to London from Manchester and I'm looking for somewhere to go skating regularly. I've found a couple of places - Brixton, Queens, Ally Pally. Basically they all look pretty good, I'm looking at going tomorrow to one of them and was wondering if anyone wanted to meetup?

Might make it a regular thing if people are interested as well - like every fortnight or something like that. Any one interested at all?

Welcome down south, how is living in London going? I may be down Ally Pally tomorrow night for the chill out session. In the middle of breaking in some new skates.

Cheers Chris, yeah it's going good. Just trying to meet new people etc. which is difficult but I'll get there I'm sure. Did 3 hours today at Brixton - nice rink and not too busy so was good. Got my hockey stops down pretty good, took a few hits on the barrier but all in all a good run.

I tried having a go at the penguin heel stop but couldn't quite grasp the idea of stopping on my heels, I'd either lean to far back and end up on my arse or not lean back enough and smash straight in to the barrier. Any tips? Would be good to meet up sometime though for sure

Hey,

I'm thinking about going to Ally Pally on Friday night for Ice Nation. Given its a Friday, I'm guessing it'll be quite busy? I've just managed to get the technique for backwards crossovers down so I want to practice that but have some fun at the same time...anyone game for meeting up?

I find its a lot more fun meeting someone than skating round aimlessly on my own haha!

Why don't you go on sunday night instead? much better for practice and i know lots of people skate there form this site on Sunday, I'm thinking of getting one of the hoodies from this site so people know that we are from here anyone else up for it?

Cool, Sunday sounds good. You up for it this sunday? And yeah, I'm down for getting a hoodie, would be good to have a little click of us skating round with them haha

Seeing how your both gonna be there i thought i would bring the hoodies with me? that way you'll defiantly have them on the night.

Easton EQ50 Ice Hockey Skates with Lightspeed 2 Tuuk and Lightspeed 2 Blade (runner) and of course Superfeet Yellow Hockey Foodbed. Looking forward to trying these out on Sunday.

Ahh thats not good man. It was good lastnight, nice and chilled. Some guy fell and cracked his head open though which was a bit of a mess! I got my hoodie as well, think Chris intended to give you yours as well but you weren't there (obviously).

I'm back in Manchester next weekend but will be looking to go Ally Pally again for Sunday Chillout on 18th if you want to Castro?
