Inside Edge and Outside Edge Control Hockey Drill Improve Skating Balance Tight Turns and Agility
This dill begins with the skater gliding forward on one skate (left or right) leaning on the skates inside edge of the blade. Leaning on the inside edge will cause you to turn or cut a half circle sometimes referred to as a “C cut” in the ice. After performing the “C cut”, the skater must perform a transition from forwards skating to backwards skating (while still on one skate). Next you need to lean on the outside edge performing another “C cut” with your outside edge.
The end result should be to “c cuts” in the ice that almost resemble the shape of the letter “S”
